An excerpt from the Personal Growth Recording Coming Home by Lazaris.
All right. All right. Once again it is a pleasure and a joy to have this chance to work with you. The words … pleasure, joy … seem too small to hold and too short to reach the fullness of the pleasure and joy it always is to explore and to work with you.
This day we talk of Coming Home, two words that also seem too small and too short. The very words bring tingles and goose bumps to some and bring tears to the eyes of others. They stir the hearts and minds of all of you. These words, at first blush seeming so simple and so mundane, stir the mysterious and the mystical; they stir the beautiful and the wondrous. These words touch something so deep in you that you cannot seem to touch back – not yet. Coming Home.
Coming Home catches your breath and creates a poignant pause that suspends the moment, making it eternal – making it enchanted, treasured, precious, and special. In that suspended and eternal moment, your spiritual yearning can be made new; your spiritual quest can be made more whole. Both yearning and quest can become rich, vibrant, and vital. Coming Home … in that moment, you can become transcendent. You can transcend.
Somewhere amid the journey, somewhere within the dance, you can discover and unfold what Coming Home is for you. Perhaps you will begin finding what it means in a symbolic way. These two words can be as a hieroglyph or icon. Meditatively, pondering the words themselves, you can "double-click" to open a window of awareness and understanding of you and your spirituality.
Maybe what you seek can be found in the metaphoric meaning and significance found embedded in the words and within the idea. You can find the meaning and significance held in the lifetimes – past, parallel, and future – that make up your fabric of being. Against the backdrop of such lifetimes, you may well find an already-existing realness.
Beyond the embedded meaning in metaphor, some will find the reverie of Coming Home in the metaphorical meaning and significance you give – that you consciously create and manifest by choice in the words and in the idea of Coming Home. Beyond the existing realness, you can consciously give realness.
The richer value of Coming Home lies beyond awareness and understanding; it lies beyond meaning and significance. Please do not misunderstand us: There is value in awareness and understanding, obviously so. Likewise, there is value in meaning and significance.
And then there is a different kind of value. Whereas most value is found in the thing, there is also value that isbeyond the thing. There is also value – a unique and phenomenally powerful value – that lies beyond. It is a value beyond content and context – beyond form. It is a value that can be found in the function – in the engagement, in the embrace, and in the activity of Coming Home.
Somewhere amid the journey and within the magical dance, you can awaken:
Powers, strengths, and talents both old and new with a raw and sheer force that you can harness with design and direction to more fully achieve and fulfill your destiny.
Mystical choice that can be a keystone to all creation and manifestation, a cornerstone to all success, happiness, and joy, and that is seminal to all change. Mystical choice that surpasses and supersedes itself to engage the Truer Self and to re-direct the entropy of the evolution of chance and necessity to the spirituality of the evolution of choice and reflection.
Within the liminal, naked without the encumbrance and entanglements of the Ego-I, you can expose yourself to your vulnerability. You can expose yourself to your weaknesses so that you can change and heal them and so that you can become strong. You can also expose yourself to your strengths, powers, and talents so that you can grow and evolve, becoming freer and more loving. You can become wise.
Miracles that allow you to reach beyond fixing it and curing it to changing and healing it with love.
Motivation: A reason to begin again. A reason to cast off your masks and disguises, to set down your shields and weaponry; a reason to take a stand and to stand tall upon your commitment with visions and dreams. A reason to become the giant that you truly are.
The journey that ended was a journey of Going Home. It was a journey of separation and of forgetting. In your forgetting, it became a journey of fear and of pain: It became a journey of violence, pain, crises, and loneliness. It became a journey of fear and sorrow. As you woke up, that journey of Going Home became a journey of struggle and suffering – "no pain, no gain."
Then it became a journey beyond struggle; it became a journey of love, light, laughter, and celebration. Many called you a fool; some still do. Your journey sought beauty, love, enchantment, and solitude. Yet the journey was still one of Going Home.
Now everything is different, and you have come to the end of that long journey. You are no longer Going Home. You are now Coming Home.
Coming Home. It is like a grand attractor that compels more than it propels, that draws more than it drives. It calls you, and you can respond. It changes every part of you, and you change if you will respond.
In the depth of Coming Home you can discover so many wonders. You can discover the luminous, the numinous, the liminal, and the responsible.
The luminous is that "something more" that defies description. It is the Light within you. You have felt it; you have been astounded and amazed by it. It is the illumination that is the endless mystery of you. In the depth of Coming Home, you can be filled and overflowing with light and love. You can be filled and overflowing with the light and love of God/Goddess/All That Is and of the Goddess, and you can be changed by that very light and love. You can be changed forever.
The numinous … another word for the divinity in you. Though it is premature to say that you are God or Goddess, it is also eternally true that within you there is a "piece of God and of Goddess." Within you lies a divinity. We would suggest that it seems solidly sleeping, stirring and rustling, or waking up more and more, but within you there is a divinity. Deep within the dance called Coming Home, you can be filled and outpouring with the ineffable and the divine beauty and wonder of God/Goddess/All That Is and of the Goddess. You can be radiant with beauty and wonder that can instantly and spontaneously engage and embrace you and as instantly and spontaneously change and grow you.
The liminal is the threshold; it is the gateway to the energy of "between". It is that mysterious between space-time; it is that mystical pause. The liminal is a state between transmutation, transformation, and transcendence. Additionally, the liminal is a state of unity between duality and oneness. We suggest that it is a state of unity and equity without hierarchy and a state of sacred vulnerability. It is holy.
The liminal is also a state of being where you, separate from the Ego-I, can discover the Self-I. There in that mysterious between and in that mystical pause, you can encounter the Self-I who is a blending of the masculine and feminine in you, who is the blended woman and man that you are, regardless of your gender. You can engage the Self-I who knows the equity of the "Faces of Self" with integrity and character and who is the mature self with an elegant rapport with the more real you.
The responsible means more than the obvious ability to respond. It means "to return to your promise." Within the dance of Coming Home … within its depths … you can find the courage and the confidence to return to the promise you made to God and to the Goddess. So long ago when, by your free will, you separated from God/Goddess/All That Is in pursuit of who you were, you promised that you would return. You promised that you would return to God and that you would return to Goddess.
You separated, we would suggest, and began your journey Going Home. Now you have rounded the bend, and you are upon the journey Coming Home. It is time to return to that promise made "so long ago." It is time to return to your promise of Coming Home.
The beauty: You are waking up now. However conscious or yet to become conscious you are, you are on your way Home. Seek the luminous, numinous, liminal, and the responsible in you, and you will find your way. We love you.
With love and peace,
A Grouping of Questions with Jach's Replies from the Online Conferences
Q: Jach, will you discuss making choice, at a level where our reality can change, as we are choosing?
Jach: Good evening. Reality changing as we are choosing ... hum ... Oh, I know such a place exists and I have been there from time to time. It is exhilarating and it is frightening. More exhilarating, though. [s] I am not sure what to say about it.
I am not sure there are particular steps one can follow to get there. There are certain issues of resonance that can play an important role, however. For me, it is intensity of emotion that is amplified by love. That emotion might be anger or fear or it could be happiness or joy. See, for me, it's not so much which emotion as it is that whatever the emotion is, I feel it intensely. Intensity in the moment, with focus and complete attention. Intensity. Letting go once the moment has passed. A reality presents itself. I feel the emotion, whatever it is, and I feel it full out. Deep, rich, exuberant, or filled with pain, I feel it full out. But that is not enough. To that intensity, I add love. Beyond fear, beyond anger, what is there? Love. Beyond happiness and joy there is also love. In the depth of every emotion ... when we can honestly go deep enough ... there is love. With intensity in place, I dive into the love. It is much easier to type it now than it is to do this then, but this is the map I use.
Okay. Intense emotion and now intense love. To this I add a heartaching desire to change the reality. Yeah, heartaching desire. I was going to type heartfelt desire, but that is not it; it's a heartaching desire. Well, combining these three energies fraught with resonance and then choosing ... it can happen.
It doesn't always happen. But sometimes the reality changes in the moment. Sometimes it changes before the choice is complete. Sometimes it doesn't. But when it doesn't, if I take the "non-responsive" choice to become an empowered choice - a choice that has voice (unfamiliar sense) at the first, second, and third power - then the magic often follows in a day or two, or more. So that fourth component of expanding the choice to be voluminous is important, too.
I hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking. [s]
Q: Dear Jach, Listening to the energy recording for the month of April I hear talk about a choice cube, would that be similar to our success cube? Thank you, Jach.
Jach: Hi there, it's good to hear from you. The choice cube is similar in form to the success cube ... I mean a cube is a cube, right? [wink] But the choice cube is defined by the choices that are within it. And the focus isn't on its dimensions or upon its ceiling, floor, and walls. Rather our choice cube is defined by the fundamental choices that are within it.
Fundamental choices: These are the choices to the third power that we make. These are the choices that form the foundation for all the other choices we make in our lives. They are the choices that do not change unless we consciously change them or ... no, I go back to that ... unless we consciously change them even if we deny our culpability in the choosing. Some examples: "I will never get what I want." "I will always fall short of my goal." "No matter what happens, I will always try to control ... or will feel sorry for myself, or blame someone." You know what I mean here, right? These are foundational choices that we hold onto rain or shine, hail, sleet, or sunny weather.
And they are not all negative. We have positive fundamental choices, too: "I will always be curious and want to learn more." "No matter what, I will always reach to be real and more of my true self." These also are fundamental choices that remain in place no matter the conditions or the situation. They are choices to the third power or ... choice cubed. (Thus the expression, choice cube.)
Now, being less than a winner, for example, is a fundamental choice we made as children for a variety of reasons. Often those reasons are noble ones ... ones seeking a higher or a lofty goal. Often those reasons had to do with being loved or with securing safety for ourselves. For example, to insure that my mother or father would always love me, a child may decide that they will always fall short or always be needy or always be frightened of the world. A child decides to be less than a winner. And that choice is a choice to the 3rd power or a choice cubed.
With that choice in place, all other choices happen within its embrace. Even a simple choice to the 1st power ... "I am going to this movie rather than that one" ... can be tainted or soiled by the fundamental choice. Maybe it won't be, but the possibility and potential are there. Or maybe the choice to the 1st power (going to this movie) comes out unscathed, but the choices to the 2nd power may not be so fortunate.
The choices to the second power are the ones that surround the area (choice squared) of the choice to the first power ... they would be such things as the choices about getting ready and actually getting my body to the theater. If I have a fundamental choice to be needy, I may have a devil of a time finding clean clothes or a ride to the movie theater. I would probably have to call someone and *need* a ride or something. These are silly examples, but I hope they make the point about the potential impact of a fundamental choice or what is our choice cube.
Thanks for asking about this. It was helpful for me to review this stuff for myself. [s]
Q: Hi, Jach ... perhaps you can talk about Choice ... especially in this time of rapid change ... constantly choosing ... choice being the rudder that can navigate the narrows ...
Jach: Hi there, ... to me, your question begs this reply: Talk about choice? Do I have to? [Smiling] There is so much to say about choice ... there always is, isn't there? Let me think a moment so I don't end up just rambling on and end up nowhere. [s]
I think about the flow of positive momentum. Lazaris has described it: Love ... Intimacy ... Magic ... Choice ... etc. And then I think of it in reverse: Choice, Magic, Intimacy, and Love. By now, each of us knows that choice is keystone to all creation and manifestation; we know that it is cornerstone to all success and happiness. We know that it is seminal to all change; it is the active agent -- the yeast -- in all creation, manifestation, success, and happiness. All of us are aware and understand it; and most of us know it. And at time of rapid change ... at a time when we are dealing with the narrows and the pinnacle of freedoms ... remembering this is critical, I think. Even if we are only aware of the phenomena of choice, remembering that awareness can be a calm in the storm of chaos. After all, rapid change means rapid chaos ... that may be dark or light chaos, and either way, it is a storm.
Remembering our awareness, our understanding, or our knowing of the phenomena of choice can be the first aspect of that rudder in a storm. It seems to me that remembering the phenomena of choice and then realizing that choice is the root of all magic can be so wonderfully powerful. Choice is the root of all magic and magic is the seed of intimacy. Magic is the seed to closeness, tenderness, vulnerability, and trust. Wow. How do any of us really attain and experience intimacy? How do any of us really attain and experience closeness, tenderness, vulnerability, and trust? How do we attain and experience reduced fears of humiliation and knowing beyond our self-doubt that we are loved, cared about, and known? It's magic!
Again, choice is the root of all magic and magic is the seed to intimacy, and out of intimacy, our love grows and expands. We have worked with the chain reaction of momentum and we have experienced how love grows and reveals intimacy and how there is magic at the base of that intimacy. We have worked with the choices we unfold in the working of our magic. And this chain reaction of momentum also works in reverse. As we make our choices wise, right, willed, and empowered ... magic happens. And out of the magic, we grow our intimacy with ourselves, with the stuff of our reality, with our unseen friends, and with other people (near and far).
With that intimacy or out of it comes greater love. It seems to me that this dance from love to choice and then from choice to love provides a superb way to deal with rapid change. It seems an excellent way to weather the otherwise stormy seas of dark and light chaos. Perhaps this approach can be especially valuable for dealing with light chaos. I say that because over the years, we have developed many ways of working with dark chaos. Light chaos is still an unknown for many of us ... and perhaps certain levels of light chaos are unknown to all of us. I also suspect that light chaos is "more dangerous" because of its unknown character and because it is more seductive to fears of negative ego.
As I write that, I think about something Lazaris said during the Global Magic intensive. When he talked of the fourth step: Grace of Mystery, where we can tap into our greatness, he said this step was the most determined and the most dangerous. More people, coming to this step, get lost here. Touching our greatness can be an overwhelming experience for us because of the temptation of negative ego. So I suspect, though I haven't checked it out beyond my suspicion, that light chaos, like the light shadow, is potentially more difficult and dangerous to work with.
So perhaps the flow of momentum and the reverse flow can be especially helpful here. And, a thought keeps hounding me: Lazaris said that this current evening workshop on Unconscious Presence would be a watershed in our growth. What jumps out at me from that workshop is the mandala of the divine and the experiences of oneness with our unconscious mind. What also jumps out at me is experiencing (if that's the appropriate word) Essence.
It seems to me that our magic has leapt to an entirely new level. The magic that we have known will still be there; the techniques we have and that we use will still be there, but I think we are beginning to work magic on an entirely new level. The old techniques will still work and they will be a comfort for us, it seems to me, but there is something very new here. I don't understand it and I cannot describe it; I can only vaguely feel it.
And in this ... what? High Magic ... choice becomes paramount. I think choice will lift up and be even more present and important. And in that, linking love to choice and then choice to love (through magic and intimacy) feels very important.
Well, I ended up rambling on after all. I will stop now. I hope some of this made sense. I know I will have to read it over to see if it makes sense to me. [vbg] So thanks for asking,
Q: Hi, Jach! Will you say a few words about our choice cubes and how to work with them? Thanks!
Jach: Hi there. Thanks for your question. I find the whole concept of a choice cube to be very fascinating. I really enjoy Lazaris' description of choice to the first, second, and third powers. I am particularly intrigued by choice to the third power, which basically defines our choice cube. So a few words ...
First, the choice cube seems to function differently than our success cube. With our success cube, the distinctions of floor and ceiling and of sides with width or depth are very important and can be very revealing when it comes to understanding the nature of our success and to assessing our relationship with success.
But with our choice cube, it's not so much the actual sides that are important. I mean, a question about how high or wide or deep our choices are doesn't make that much sense -- and an answer to such a question doesn't really make a whole lot of difference, as I see it.
The merit of our choice cube seems to be more clearly defined by its content than by its boundaries. We can understand our choices to the first and second power fairly easily. They are the choices "in the moment" (choice to the first power) and the secondary choices that support that in-the-moment choice. But choice to the third power is different. It is a fundamental choice that, once made, remains in place until we change it. They are life choices. Sometimes we come in with them, and sometimes we craft them in our childhood and young adult years. They are sometimes constructed at the worst possible times, like in the depths of despair or in the pits of hopelessness. And they are often made in the hidden places ... consciously made, mind you, but often in places that are hidden from view.
These fundamental choices define the space in which all other choices are made. And they are to us as water is to fish. We don't see them because we live them. We don't see them because we blind ourselves to when we made them. But they are there. And they are essential to living life. Yeah, essential. No matter how miserable a person's life may be, it is based upon and dependent upon choices to the third power ... upon those fundamental choices that are profound and ever-lasting. So fundamental choices are to us as water is to fish.
How to work with them ... One way is to go hunting for the current fundamental choices and then to assess them. The hunt can be done in several ways. First, we could sit down and jot down a slew of choices to the first and second power, and then look for common denominators, recurring themes or threads, or common conclusions underlying those many choices listed randomly. I don't recommend this way because it can be tedious, but it might appeal to some.[s]
Second, we can look at our destiny, or at what we know of it. Destiny is an intricate combination of fate and fortune along with that which is inevitable in our lives. We can look at destiny that has already demonstrated itself. What has been our fate so far? What have been our core beliefs and what have been our core life choices as reflected and expressed in the life we have lived? What has been our fortune so far? That is, what has been our relationship with abundance ... with bounty, autonomy, exalted giving, co-creation, conscious and active participation, and with celebration and triumph?
Based on what has already happened in our lives, what seems or appears to be inevitable? Such assessment can give us a sense, if not a clear picture, of our destiny. And, unless we change, we know that the same stuff is bound to continue. The form may vary, but the function will remain the same. Again: unless we change. So this assessment of "what was" can give us a good idea of our destiny ... of the destination ... of where we are "going to end up." Pretty picture or not, within our destiny we can find the choices to the third power, and we thus find the volume of our choices ... our choice cube.
Then we can work with those choices ... The best way I have found is to work with the recording from Lazaris called Becoming a Winner at Living Life. His description about how we as small children make the choice to be less than a winner is priceless to me. And his challenge: If we were so powerful back then as to be able to make a choice (to be less than the winner) that has lasted this long, then we surely are powerful enough to make a new choice that is as powerful or more powerful. His challenge is terrific. It makes me smile whenever I think of it.
A third way to unearth those fundamental choices is to work with our Higher Self and Future Self at the gateway to our unconscious mind. Those choices are neatly recorded and held in our unconscious. So we can go to the doorway ... the gateway ... and with our Higher Self and Future Self, we can call those beliefs to come forth in a gentle, non-invasive way. Gentle and non-invasive is very important, and it's important to sit at the gate and call them forth. If we go into our unconscious to find them, often we go unconscious and retrieve nothing. But if we sit at the gateway and call them forth and let them emerge from our unconscious, then we have something we can work with. So those are a few ways.
I guess the key is that working with our choice cube isn't about stretching or expanding the boundaries, as it is with our success cube. It's about discovering that esoteric content and changing it ... changing our beliefs, changing our choices, changing our attitudes and our thoughts and feelings as well. If we change those things at a base level or a core level, then our cube, the volume of choice, changes. Then the everyday choices to the first and second power may be the same as they have always been, but the results, the reality that emerges from them, can be very different. I hope that helps. [s]
All right. All right. Well, well, well ... once again we connect. Once again, it is a pleasure; it is a joy. Welcome.
Today, we want to explore choice. We would suggest that because you make choices - make choices all day long - it is easy to assume that you know all you need to know about choice. And we also suggest that amid the many choices you make every day, there is a mystery. And within that mystery, there are both power and magic.
So we talk of choice, but we do not talk of it in the ways with which you are most familiar. We do not talk about setting goals, creating a plan, making decisions, or following through. You have heard such talks often enough ... maybe too often.
Let us continue.
The Mystery You Know
The mystery of choice lies within space-time. It is located within the forms and within the formation -- the patterns of those forms -- that is your reality. It is located within the awareness, understanding, and meaning, and within the conceiving and perceiving that you give to and receive from your reality every day of your life. You already know much of the mystery.
It begins ... Choice is one of your raw materials that you use to create your reality. To remind you, there are six raw materials with which everyone creates their reality: Belief, Attitude, Thought, Feeling, Decision, and Choice.
Along with belief, choice is the most powerful raw material. Of all the raw materials, choice is the active agent of change. It is the agent of implementation. You see, you can change your beliefs and your attitudes, but reality does not change until you make new choices based upon your new beliefs or your new attitudes. Likewise, we suggest, you can alter your thoughts and shift your feelings. And it is choice that turns those altered and shifted states into reality.
So it is with decisions. You can make new decisions and change old ones. Unless you also make choices, in this sensing, your newly made or changed decisions are at risk of being nothing more than rhetoric. Unless you make choices, decisions made are at risk of becoming nothing more than another reason why you are "not good enough."
Choice triggers the action and implementation of belief, attitude, thought, feeling, and decision-making. Choice is the active agent of change.
And then ... Choice is focused intent. As such, it is critical to not only what you pay and give attention to, but how you pay and give that attention. Choice opens the floodgates to allow dimension and meaning to your personal and global reality.
We suggest that there are four core ways in which you make - allow - your world real. One way is to give it dimension; you give length, width, and depth as well as space-time to that which you make real. Think of it: the things you remember and the events that matter to you have dimension. Whether they are positive or negative realities to you, we would suggest, they have dimension.
Another way that you make or allow things to be real in your world is by giving those things meaning. You allow them to matter to you; you allow them to be significant to you. They have value.
Reflection is another way. The things that are real to you are the things you give or pay attention to. They are things that are positively or negatively connected to your intent. As well, they are things that you act upon and that influence your self-image. You allow things to be real by reflection: Attention, intention, action, and image.
The fourth way: choice. The things that are real in your world are things that you have chosen to give dimension, mattering, and reflection. Choice, we would suggest, opens the floodgates that allow your reality and your world to be real to you.
Keystone ... Choice is the keystone to creation and manifestation. It can supersede all patterns, templates, and programs that are already in place.
Choice can override your genetic-hormonal codes, for example. You know that many people excuse or explain their actions because of their hormones. There are those who claim being out of control or helpless because of their genes. There is some merit to this argument. We would suggest, often such statements are nothing more than excuse, but your genetic codes do give you messages. Even so, choice can override those messages.
There are societal templates of behavior (social memes), and there are acceptable patterns of power. You all know that there are patterns, templates, and programs from your past that can seem to threaten you as they haunt you with "what was" or loom ahead of you with "what will be."
Choice can supersede such encumbrance. To create and then manifest the reality you want, it is important to surpass these old patterns and programs. It is critical to be free of them. Choice offers that freedom. We would say: Choice is keystone to all creation and to all manifestation.
At the core ... Choice is seminal to change.
Cornerstone ... Choice is the cornerstone to success. It is at the root and the core of happiness and joy; at the core and root of love, intimacy, and caring. It is at the root and core of worth, esteem, confidence, and respect -- the valued self.
And then ... Choice is focused intent, and as such, it is critical to changing intent and thus the function and form of energy. It is critical to changing action and image. Choice is essential to all learning.
Active agent ... Choice is the active agent - the yeast - of your power, strength, and talent. It is the active agent of taking back your power with responsibility.
Beyond the Mystery, the Mystical
Yes, as we suggest, there is much that you already know of choice and its mystery. And yet, there is more. To open the window or the door to understanding the mystery of choice, consider the following seven statements.
Don't try to fully understand these statements. We would suggest, allow yourself to ponder them; savor them. Let them touch you. You may retreat or recoil at first. Let it be. You may feel something positive and powerful stir in you as you consider these statements. Let it be.
Just be with these statements. Savor. Ponder. Let them steep the mystery - the mystery of choice - in you. Let it be. Choose.
Choice within space-time is located in our conscious consciousness, not in our subconscious or unconscious consciousness. Though attention is often subconscious and intent is often unconscious, choice, that hooks each, is conscious.
Choice selects the neural pathways of brain activity. When choice is conscious, the electromagnetic and electrochemical energies and forces of the brain are shifted and changed. The neural pathways can be changed by choice. Choice can alter the avenues of least resistance and the avenues of least effort.
Choice engages the mind that can override the brain and it can engage the unconscious to override the subconscious. You can become even more conscious of consciously creating your own reality. You can create and manifest with greater artistry and mastery.
Choice can supersede and surpass itself.
Choice can redirect evolution so that it does not proceed driven by entropy and random change or necessity.
Choice can open gateways to the Future and to your futures ... to the possible and to your many possibilities.
Choice is within space-time, yet it functions between it. It is not only sequential. It is not only chronological. Space-time choice is mysterious. One of its mysteries is that it is also mystical.
While the mystery of choice lies within space-time, we would suggest, the mysticism of choice lies beyond space-time. It has no location. The mystical of choice is non-local.
Because it is non-local, because it is beyond space-time, and because it is part of the more-real, this kind of choice - mystical choice - is also more real. As you allow space-time choice with its mystery to become more and more powerful, you can use mysterious and conscious choice to link and connect with the mystical choice that lies beyond space-time.
The more-real choice can amplify the mystery known, and yet-to-be-known, of conscious choice. Such mystical choice can allow the known, and yet-to-be known, to become bright and brilliant.
When mysterious choice becomes mystical, the miraculous states are at hand.
As mysterious or as mystical as choice can be, often it is not. Often choice is quite ordinary. Often it lacks luster as well as power. Why?
Paradox ... As powerful as choice is, it is neither mysterious nor mystical when it is a choice of last resort or one that stands alone. In this sensing, when someone has exhausted all their options and feels helpless or even hopeless, they turn to choice. Only then do they become interested in "this thing called choice." Also, when someone senses that there are no options to explore, when they feel imprisoned in and by their situation, they suddenly want to explore choice. But, as we say, there is nothing mysterious or mystical about such last resort or stand-alone choices. It is a paradox.
Likewise, fear choices - those choices made within the depth of fear and for the purpose of circumventing fear - and disowned choices - choices made while pretending that it "wasn't a choice at all" - have no mystery. We would suggest, they do have impact, but they lack mystery; they lack magic.
And coerced choices lack mystery, mysticism, and magic. As powerful as choice can be, it can seem powerless as well. In this sensing, it's a paradox.
Pain ... Choice can be hurtful and painful when it is used as a club or weapon for self-defense or for self-punishment and ridicule. There are those who have used the concept of choice to defend themselves. When their reality doesn't seem to work, they lament that they chose this or that they didn't choose that. "But I chose ..." becomes their chorus.
Others have used the concept of choice to beat themselves up for failing at or for falling short of their goal. "But I chose ..." becomes their sharp barb.
If you have used choice to defend or punish yourself, you could resist choice now because of that past pain. If you have used choice to ridicule yourself, the pain of such action could create resistance to its mystery or mysticism If you have imprisoned yourself with the harsh judgments borne of painful choice, you may find reluctance to explore the wonder of choice. We would suggest, with the more loving and more healing of the pain, the option of choice can blossom once again.
Fear ... Choice can be fearful when it is viewed as being too revealing and too vulnerable, too liberating and freeing; or too responsible and powerful. It can be fearful: You worry, "What if I make the wrong choice?" It can be frightening.
Familiarity ... Choice can become automatic, and when it does, it is no longer mysterious or mystical. This happens, we would suggest, when you are programmed or conditioned to automatically choose or when driven by old patterns, templates, or programs, when you give power away or relinquish it, or when your yet-to-be-broken "dark law" is threatening.
A Few Techniques
To allow your choices to become more meaningful, more powerful, and more magical, we suggest there are several things you can do.
1. Remember and reunite with the mysteries that you do know. Work with becoming more conscious of these seven mysteries. We would suggest, allow them to become more real in your world. That is, give the seven mysteries dimension; give them time and space. Allow them to matter; sense the meaning, significance, and value to you. Reflect; give attention to these mysteries before you have to pay attention to them. In this sensing, work with intent and act upon these seven mysteries. Allow their truth to become a part of your self-image. Oh, yes, let yourself choose to allow these mysteries to be real. We would suggest that choice is seminal to change.
2. Ponder and savor those statements about choice that is beyond space-time; work with those statements about mystical choice. Play with them. In this sensing, allow them to play with your mind.
3. Healing resistance is so valuable in this process. Face and explore your resistance. The ones we discuss here are not the only ones; they are intended as catalysts for the resistance you can find within yourself. Recognition of resistance is followed by acknowledgment: This is your resistance and it can be healed.
After you recognize and acknowledge, forgiving yourself for having and holding resistance to the mystery and mysticism of choice becomes paramount. Self-forgiveness is key to changing and thus key to healing.
4. Choosing Choice Technique: This is such an elegant technique that many dismiss as "too simple." We would suggest that those who seek struggle and pain in their growth are particularly offended by this technique.
When something happens in your reality, no matter how big or small, in this sensing, work with the following statements. Own the statements and answer the questions.
- This is a choice.
- This is my choice.
- I am choosing to ... (state the thing) ...
- My reason for this choice is ...
- This is how I am going to respond; this is the action I am going to take. The action upon my choice is ...
- The result of my action was ...
- That was my choice, too.
Start with small events. Work with non-threatening events and then with less threatening events. In time, we would suggest, you will sense the power of this elegant technique. And with the "big events" in your life, you will have access to the power, mystery, mysticism, and the magic of choice. We would suggest, it is a wonderful gift.
5. Who is choosing? To build upon conscious choice and its power, it is important to know who, within you, is the one currently making the choices. Is it your child or adolescent? And which face of child-adolescent is it? This question can be so helpful.
Is it your negative ego that is choosing? Is it your parental face? Who is making this choice? Again, such questions can open you to an inner dialog. We would suggest, such a dialog can be empowering. It can also interrupt what could be a very negative avenue to follow.
Even when the "who is choosing" is exactly who you wanted to be making those choices, being conscious of that can be enlightening and empowering. The result of those choices can be truly magical. As we say, choice can be a wondrous gift.
6. Know the category of choice that you are making. At first, this can seem encumbering or a waste of time. Though it can seem to be, we would suggest that this does not have to be busy work. In this sensing, as you become more conscious of the type of choice you are making, you can become more clear about how to implement it. You can become clearer on how to work with this active agent of change.
Types of choices ... Physical, Emotional-Mental, or Social. Is this a choice that can change you physically or whose action will be physical? Will this choice play out emotionally-mentally? Does this choice affect your social reality and world? How far beyond you does it reach? The answers, we would suggest, alter your means and methods of responding.
Types of choices ... Character, Integrity, or Value. A character choice is very different than a physical or emotional one. The touch of Soul is different. Knowing that, in this sensing, can alter the depth and touch of mystery within that choice. A choice that increases a sense of integrity or adds to the sense of value is also unique.
Types of choices ... Creative or Spiritual. Again, we would suggest, knowing the energy and force within the kind of choice you make can make the process of choosing more and more conscious. With greater consciousness comes greater magic.
7. Bottle It! You can create a homeopathic-like elixir. Or, we would suggest, you could work with crystals. With either, you can create a choice-elixir or a choice-crystal to hold the mystery and mysticism ... to hold the magic ... of choice.
Weed through your fear and growth choices, your old and new choices, your relinquished and embraced choices, and your constricting and expanding choices. Flow the energy of growth choices, new and embraced choices, and of luminous choices into the elixir or into the crystal.
Think about some of the really wonderful choices you have previously made. As you think of these, feel the sense of aliveness, of gratitude, and of love. Feel your sense of self-value. As well, we would suggest, be alert to and feel your sense of patience, of giving, and of power. Feel these feelings around those wonderful choices that you have already made. Filled with the resonance of these energies, flow them into the elixir or crystal.
Use the energy of remembering and reuniting (technique #1) and of pondering and savoring (technique #2) and flow these energies into the bottle or the crystal form.
Now complete the process by flowing your love, your caring, and your sense of intimacy into the bottle or crystal. Flow your images of happiness and joy as well as your images of healing into this vessel.
Cover the bottle containing the elixir or cover the crystal that is alive with light and love. A simple cloth works just grand. Cover it, we would suggest, for 24 hours.
Now you have bottled it. You have bottled the essence of the mystery and mysticism of choice.
Did you really do that? The answer is up to you. It's your choice.
Ah, it has been a joy working with you. And we look forward to working with you as you implement these ideas and techniques. We look forward to next time ...
With love and peace,
I feel an urge to be quiet. Not inactive, no, but quiet as I go about working my magic in my life and for the world. So with the influx of activity in the world specifically in Syria, I am being quiet.
It's September 23, the second most powerful day of the year. In my quiet, I am calling upon the grandmothers and grandfathers of Sirius, and I am calling upon my future selves, several of them, and together we are creating a union of magic, a confluence of our various magics, to flow into the world.
During the One-Day workshops, Lazaris talked about the unique nature of the current chaos in the world. He spoke of a convergence of an array of futures from the constricting to the expanding - from the negative to the positive. These futures are not manifesting but they are converging in the present. To this, there is a convergence of the prevailing human crises of dignity, character, vision, and vitality and of the continuing crises of fear and of hope. With all these energies converging in the present, the current chaos is different. It is more intense and more prevalent. We all feel that.
Chaos, by its nature, is a delicate state. It precedes and follows change, all change no matter how big or small. In addition, even a subtle shift during a state of chaos can ultimately have huge impact. This is why such states - states that seem totally random with no order or direction in which the most subtle of shifts can generate profound change - are called chaos.
While these futures and these crises are converging, during the chaos, all sorts of choices and decisions are being made. Those choices and decisions produce subtle shifts. What will be the impact? What changes will eventually emerge from those subtle shifts in the domain of chaos?
I now understand more fully why Lazaris spoke of October as a time to be cautious. With the raging political conflicts, internationally and nationally, it seems too easy to make choices and decisions that are fraught with hidden agendas and riddled with hasty and sometimes irrational shortsightedness. It seems too easy to build choices and decisions upon an armature of constricting emotions: anger, fear, hurt, blame, revenge.
Change begins with me. I need to be cautious with my choices now and with my decisions. Then I can work my magic to dream that others are also being cautious. I can make a map of cautious choice, and I can dream that others find such maps for themselves.
To this end, I am being quiet, and in the stillness, I quietly make my choices. I work to weed out any of my hidden agendas and to weave in a bit of wisdom: seeing the bigger picture without losing sight of the current one; reaching beyond logic and reason without losing touch with either, and letting my imagination be wild and wonderful without losing my tether to the rational.
In the quiet, I am working on my vision of my future. I expand my image and sense myself in my future as my world becomes new.
My choices. That comes first. Then I am working magic on the impact - the affect and the effect - of the choices and decisions others are making. Perhaps I cannot change their choices, but I can change the impact of those choices in accordance and compliance with my will, my imagination, and my love. I am a magician. I can work magic.
My vision. This also comes first, and then I work my magic to build a vision for the world. From my world becoming new, I envision the world being new. I don't know the details of what happens between "here and now" and "there and then." I don't need to detail in the Between of worlds. Somewhere in the Between of "here and now," magic happens. Beyond the Between, there is the "there and then". Magic happens. I am okay with that.
I am quiet, but I am very busy working my magic of dreaming others waking up with caution, of working my magic of change, and of infusing my choices and decisions and the choices and decisions of others with wisdom.
Right now, this is how it seems to me.
